EU plans to ban formaldehyde in poultry feed
This week, EU countries supported the European Commission's proposal to ban the use of formaldehyde as a feed additive, ending the two-year dispute. The European Union’s decision during the Standing Committee on Animal and Plant Food and Feed (SCoPAFF) supported the Commission’s decision to ban the use of formaldehyde as a preservative and sanitation enhancer.
The European Commission said that 26 countries voted in favor of this resolution, one country abstained and the other voted against it. The official gazette will be announced at the appropriate time, ending a process of overturning and continually changing.
