ABSTRACT: Fumaric acid was analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography. Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C18 (4.6 x 150 mm, 5 um); 0.50% phosphoric acid-distilled water (1:9, volume ratio) elution solvent, flow rate 1 mL/min; column temperature 30 C; detection wavelength 210 nm Fumaric acid average recovery 98.67%, RSD = 1.26% (n = 5). The method is simple and rapid, and can be used as a new method for the determination of fumaric acid in feed by high performance liquid chromatography.

Fumaric acid, also known as fumaric acid, violinic acid, lichenic acid, fumaric acid. Usually white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in cold water, with fruit sour taste. The chemical formula is C4H4O4, which is an important organic chemical raw material and fine chemical product. At present, potentiometric titration [2], spectrophotometry [3], ion exchange chromatography [4] and high performance liquid chromatography [5-8] are the main methods for the determination of fumaric acid. In recent years, the determination of fumaric acid in feed Acidifiers has been rarely reported in the literatures, which mainly focus on simple media such as standard products, wastewater, fermentation broth, wine and fruit juice. A new method for the determination of fumaric acid in feed acidifier by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was established. The method has good repeatability and stability. It can detect the content of fumaric acid more quickly and accurately.
